For Deveronvale Community Football Club have been successful in applying for a UEFA EURO 2020 legacy pack celebrating Scotland's part in the competition.

In recognition of Glasgow’s role as one of the 11 host cities for the tournament - which Italy won on Sunday - the Scottish FA teamed up with Glasgow Life to release 50 individual UEFA EURO 2020 Glasgow Club Legacy Packs to enhance the provision of grassroots football activities in Scotland.

Entries were received from across the country and one of 50 clubs receiving a pack which hold Scottish FA Quality Mark accreditation is Deveronvale CFC.

The club is set to benefit from specialist equipment including balls, bibs and goals which will play a pivotal role in their provision of football activities and assist in the development of Scotland’s young generation of footballers.

They will use the UEFA EURO 2020 branded equipment to cater for more than 350 of their registered players and 70 volunteer coaches.

The club has been rewarded for excellent links with the community by supporting players across various age groups through providing a welcoming environment to play football, which secured the title of ‘Best Community Football Club’ in 2020.

Kevin Stewart, Chairman of Deveronvale Community Football Club, said: “We applied for the legacy pack so that we could bring some EURO flair to our sessions and within our community in the lead up to the tournament.

"There’s a real buzz about the EUROs and it has been great to hear players of all ages talking about it. We are hoping it will inspire more youngsters to come along, get involved and participate in football.”

Govan side Harmony Row, the youth team that nurtured a young Sir Alex Ferguson, were the first club to receive a pack in support of their excellent community links across Glasgow, spanning many decades.
