CAMMY Eadie’s first goal for Elgin City snatched a late victory for the Moray men against Cowdenbeath.

In a scrappy match of few chances, Eadie forced home from a Thomas Reilly corner with five minutes left to nick a 1-0 win.

It was the second week running where the Black and Whites had struck late to take three points, following an 87 minute clincher against Clyde.

Eadie had claimed the previous week’s winner by saying he got a touch on a shot by Chris Dodd, who ended up being credited with the goal.

“So it was good that I finally got my first goal, and I didn’t have to wait long,” he said.

“That shows you how close the boys are when we are always willing to go right to the very end to try and win games.”

Manager Gavin Price said: “It shows good character to go and do it two weeks in a row.”

Cowdenbeath had Kyle Miller sent off for a second booking right at the start of the second half, but battled well to frustrate their hosts.

However the bottom side's luck was out when City scrambled home the decisive goal near the end.

Next up for Elgin is a trip to Berwick Rangers on Saturday when they will be aiming to make it three wins in a row.

They did receive an injury setback on Saturday when Jordan Allan limped off with a knee injury.
