Sunday's third round draw paired the Moray side with a home tie against Championship side Alloa, likely to be played on November 23.

Elgin earned their place in the draw with a 3-1 win over Lowland League Berwick Rangers on Saturday.

City beat the Clackmannanshire side in a Betfred Cup penalty shoot-out in July after a 3-3 draw at their Indodrill Stadium.

Alloa had just appointed former Celtic favourite Peter Grant as their manager and his first game in charge was the Elgin defeat.

They currently sit second bottom of the Championship but recently beat league leaders Dundee United and drew on Saturday away to title contenders Caley Thistle.

Of the remaining Highland League sides in the draw, Inverurie Locos, who knocked out Rothes at the weekend, have landed a home draw against Cowdenbeath or Broxburn.

If Fort William can win a replay against Albion Rovers they will host Airdrie, and Brora make the trip to Morton.

Formartine are also in a replay against Gala, with the winners at home to East Kilbride.
