Brazilian footballer signs for Elgin City as former Caley Thistle player Matheus Machado pens one-year deal at Borough Briggs

ELGIN City have signed attacking midfielder Matheus Machado on a one-year deal.

The 20-year-old former Caley Thistle player had been training with Elgin for the past month.

Machado has a spell in the Championship with Inverness, debuting as a sub in their 3-1 Challenge Cup win over Morton in September 2019.

The Brazilian scored in his third and final appearance for Caley in a 3-1 win over Alloa Athletic, also in the Challenge Cup.

Machado's career began in his home country with Red Bull Brasil, and after leaving Inverness he had a brief spell with Portuguese club Rio Avenue, where he featured for their B team.

In action for Caley Thistle in the North Cup against Forres Mechanics.
