The 20-year-old stopper comes in on loan from Inverness Caley Thistle until January.

Nicolson was one of a number of Caley Thistle youngsters on loan at Fort William during the 2019-20 season.

He has been a regular in the first team squad and started two cup matches last season for the Championship side.

Both were Caley wins, with Nicolson featuring in the 1-0 Betfred Cup win over East Fife and the 3-2 Scottish Cup success at Buckie Thistle earlier this year.

He was one of four ICT youngsters given new contracts at the club earlier this summer.

Elgin have now signed goalkeeper Daniel Hoban, defender Creag Little and midfielder Archie Macphee over the close season.

Manager Gavin Price is keen to take in another striker before the League Two campaign kicks off at home to Stranraer on July 31.

The Black and Whites travel to East Fife tomorrow for their final group game in the Premier Sports Cup.

They have lost all three matches so far against Arbroath, Dundee United and Kelty Hearts.
