Manager Steven Mackay confirmed the signature of the 17-year-old who spent the first half of the season on loan at Strathspey Thistle in the Highland League.

Cruickshank, who came through the Elgin City youth system, has also played of North Junior Super League outfit Dufftown.

Mackay says Cruickshank impressed on loan at Strathspey and think he can make a big contribution at Station Park.

"We have taken in Aidan from Elgin City after he played for Strathspey Thistle earlier in the campaign," he said.

"He is added to the squad and will be available for the game against Clachnacuddin on Tuesday."

"We are still looking to conduct further business by looking to bring in at least one, if not two new faces."

Cruickshank's arrival comes as Seamus McConaghy and Rory Williamson have gone on loan to Strathspey Thistle until the end of the season.

Mackay said it is vital that the duo get game time to help develop their careers.

He said: “Seamus and Rory are both at the stage where they need regular football in the Highland League to kick-on with their careers and move to the next stage of their development.

“Going to Strathspey until the end of the season gives them the opportunity to go out and get a run of games at this level, although it will be challenging for them and there are no guarantees – it is down to them to go there and earn a place in the team.

“Brian Ritchie is back as manager there and is always keen to promote young players, so we know the boys are in good hands and it is up to them to make the most of it.”
