Elgin City pulled off another stunning victory on Saturday, beating East Fife 4-2 at home to move up to third place in Ladbrokes League 2.

Manager Jim Weir has asked his players to continue their superb home form, in contrast to dismal away results, and that’s what he got.

And two home-grown lads played a major part.

Bryan Cameron gave City a dream start with a goal after just one minute – and Daryl McHardy made it 3-2 in 66 minutes.

Craig Gunn had added a second in four minutes, to build on a fantastic start, but East Fife fought back through Wilie in 10 minutes and Austin in 37 minutes.

After McHardy restored the lead, Daniel Moore grabbed goal number four in the dying seconds to round off a great afternoon.

That sets up Elgin for a tasty William Hill Scottish Cup third round tie against Championship side Raith Rovers at Borough Briggs this Saturday.

Ready more in Friday’s Scot.
