Elgin City's season to start on October 6 as SPFL confirm Betfred Cup dates

ELGIN City's season will begin on October 6 with the opening game of the Betfred Cup, it has been confirmed today.
It remains to be seen whether any fans will be back in to watch the game, which will take place on a Tuesday night.
The Betfred Cup will follow last season's format – a group stage with five clubs playing each other once.
All 42 SPFL clubs will take part in the competition. The SPFL is set to speak to Highland League champions Brora Rangers and Lowland League champions Kelty Hearts about their involvement in the competition.
A date for the group stage draw will follow in due course.
