Elgin darts player Craig Quinn defeats Alex Morrison of Stornoway to win Portland Open in Inverness

ELGIN darts player Craig Quinn took top honours at The 24th Portland Open at the Keppoch Inn last week.

Quinn defeated Stornoway’s Alex Morrison in the final 5–3.

He took out legs of 15 darts and 14 darts on his way to lifting the Bryan Whyte Memorial Trophy and a first prize of £1500.

The Festival opened on Thursday with the Portland Fours and the title was successfully defended by Sandy Morrison, Alex Morrison, Derek Maclean and George Main.

He got the better of Jim McNair, Jamie McNair, Paul McWhirter and Les Williamson from the Seaforth Club in Nairn.

The competition continued on Friday with the Portland Threes with Sandy Morrison, George Main and Derek Maclean had to settle for second place, just like last year, as Scottish International Ross Montgomery, Shane Wharton and David King lifted the title.

Derek Maclean and Alex Morrison won the doubles championship.
