ELGIN City have been given a home tie against Championship Raith Rovers in the Scottish Cup.
Thursday morning’s draw at Hampden also handed Buckie Thistle another long trip south to face League 1 Stranraer.
And if Forres Mechanics win their replay against East Kilbride on Saturday, they travel to face League 1 Stenhousemuir.
There should be a big crowd at Borough Briggs on November 28 when Raith pay a visit to Elgin.
The teams last met ten years ago in a League Cup tie at Starks Park, which went to extra time before Raith won 3-1.
Buckie’s journey south to Stair Park will be a long one for the travelling Jags support.
And if Forres can win through this weekend, they will once have to play on a plastic pitch.
They drew on the artificial surface at East kilbride last Saturday and Stenhousemuir also play on an astro surface at Ochilview.
Thursday’s draw was made by former Scotland and Rangers boss Alex McLeish.
Full third round draw, ties scheduled to be played on Saturday, November 28.
