Elgin Golf Club five-day open recovers from the storms to enter matchplay stages

After a stormy Monday of play, Elgin Golf Club's annual five-day open has come through the qualifying stages.
Alan Duncan topped the leaderboard after rounds of 72 and 69 for a gross score of 141.
Just a shot behind were Inverness golfer Jonathon Keith (71, 71) and Moray's Ryan Copland (69, 73).
The top sixteen gross scores qualified for the knockout stages of the Kynoch Shand Cup, with eight matchplay ties being contested today (Wednesday)
A record field of 171 gents started the Grierson Wealth Management-sponsored tourney on Monday and had to brave the weather.
Two heavy rain periods and some thunderstorms led to delays in play but all rounds were completed.
