Dingwall (23) has more than 50 appearances for County under his belt, scoring against star-studded Celtic in a Premiership match two years ago.

He has been farmed out to City to get games as he recovers from a long term injury which has kept him out of action for most of 2017.

Price said: “Having known the player and seen the player a lot it’s a good opportunity for us to get a player of that quality into the club. I feel it would be quite foolish for us not to take up that opportunity.

The player debuted for County in August 2014 in a 4-0 Premiership defeat at Hamilton, and by December he scored his first two goals for the club in a 2-2 draw at Motherwell.

A year later he fired in a fine effort in a 4-1 loss to Celtic and two weeks later netted against Motherwell once again, a solo strike in a 3-0 County win.

Subsequently a knee injury curtailed his progress but he is back on the road to recovery, with County keen to get him back in shape for the second half of the Premiership campaign.

He will feature in Elgin’s midfield at Central Park on Saturday against League 2 basement boys Cowdenbeath.

Full story and news on another possible new face for Elgin City in Friday's Northern Scot.
