Elgin Amateur Swimming Club sent their A squad of swimmers to the Buchan event and picked up a clutch of medals and personal best times.

The Elgin team mostly competed in the 400 metres events, with some going double the distance to 800m and two even taking on the stamina-sapping 1500m swim.

Club members who headed to Fraserburgh were Abbi Mitchell, Grace Powell, Caitlin Parnaby, Beth Manson, Jessica Powell, Morgan Hughes, Maya Cheshire, Euan Ross, Lewis Paterson, Taylor Sinclair and Fraser McLaughlan.

Grace Powell won silver in both the 400m freestyle and 800m freestyle, and Abbi Mitchell took silver in the 400m individual medley.

Elgin will also send a contingent to their next competition in Inverness this weekend.
