Elgin top despite another 2-2 draw

DELIGHTED to be top of the table but gutted to concede a last gasp equaliser.
Elgin City boss Ross Jack could scarcely believe it as his side played out a third consecutive 2-2 draw at Montrose.
Ten man Montrose recovered from 2-0 down at half-time to snatch a share of the points.
It was the third game in a row that City have thrown away convincing leads.
"We are a point clear at the top but we are gutted," admitted Jack.
Stuck in a 'Groundhog Day' nightmare, Jack saw City romp into a comfortable 2-0 interval lead, only to see his side throw it away in the second half.
"The chances we missed in the first half was incredible and we could have been five or six up at half-time," he said.
Stuart Leslie fired City ahead after 22 minutes and then Montrose had keeper Sandy Wood sent off.
Daniel Moore made it 2-0 from the penalty spot on 33 minutes and Elgin looked comfortable at the break.
A screamer from ex-Elgin City striker Garry Wood (74) got the home side back into the game.
A crucial moment came when Moore missed a second penalty which could have killed the game.
And the visitors were made to pay for missed chances when Jamie Winter fired a wonder last gasp leveller.
"I can't praise the boys highly enough for the football we are playing at times," said Jack.
However, he added: "We want to be genuine contenders and dropping points like that is not a sign of a team that can win the league."
With Queens Park and Peterhead also drawing, City are a point clear at the top of the table but Rangers have two games in hand.
Ally McCoist's side can go back to the summit with just a point from their game at Clyde on Sunday.
