In an interview with the Northern Scot which can be heard below, the St Johnstone loan keeper spoke about his time with Elgin so far.

He was awarded man of the match on Saturday as City stayed joint top with East Fife in League 2 with their third win in four league games.

Hurst pulled off severla good stops including one from a free kick by Stirling’s Steven Doris where he revealed he was unsighted.

He admitted it wasn’t Elgin’s best team performance of the season but they need to stick together as a team every week to maintain their challenge this term.

"The team as a whole didn’t play as well as we could have but got the result – that’s the main thing," Hurst said.

He revealed how Saints loan team-mate Liam Gordon, who was stretchered off in Saturday’s game, isn’t as badly injured as first feared.

And he says coming north once a fortnight to Inverness for training with his Perth team-mates Gordon and George Hunter to join the rest of the City squad has proved to be beneficial.
