The Moray side were beaten 2-0 by the Fifers on Tuesday night, less than a fortnight after exiting the Scottish Communities League Cup at the hands of the same opponents.

City manager Ross Jack insisted he had no complaints about the midweek loss, and turned his focus to Saturday's Division 3 trip to Montrose.

"It was like chalk and cheese compared to Saturday's great win over Berwick," Jack said. "We couldn't get started, there was no flair and our passing game didn't get going.

"The cup's gone now, and we must get this out of our system and turn to this weekend and a massive match at Montrose."

Jack fielded the same starting line-up for the fourth match running at East Fife, but handed a debut to on-loan Ross County youngster Archie MacPhee as a second half substitute.

A second half double by Ryan Wallace proved too much for the Black and Whites in the end.

Wallace had also scored in the Fifers 2-1 success over Elgin in the League Cup on July 30.
