Scotland, Rangers and Liverpool legend Graeme Souness to visit Elgin City's Borough Briggs in November

A BRITISH footballing legend is set to visit Elgin in November.

Graeme Souness, formerly of Rangers, Liverpool and Scotland, will visit Borough Briggs on November 12, where he will entertain guests with stories about his career.

Souness (69) now works as a pundit for Sky Sports, but previously played and managed at some of Europe's biggest clubs – including Benfica, Sampdoria and Galatasaray.

In one of Graeme Souness' most iconic moments, he plants the flag of Galatasaray in the centre of arch rival Fenerbahçe's pitch. He was punched in the face by an opposition fan as a result.

He first played for Tottenham Hotspur, going on to play more than 400 matches for Liverpool and Middlesbrough.

His visit to Elgin is being hosted by Bridge 45 and The Salt Cellar, with doors opening at 7.30pm for an 8pm start.

Regular tickets are £90, with VIP tickets – which allow a meet and greet, signed photo and signed shirt, £140.
