It was however the home side who took the lead mid-way through the first half with a great move down the right hand side and a very tidy finish by Ellon’ top goal scorer James Bain.

As the half went on Dyce won a set piece which was swung over from their hand side and coolly slotted home at the back post.

Ellon won a penalty just on half time but Dyce keeper Morgan Cook made a fabulous save low to his right hand side to leave it all square at 1-1 at half-time.

The second half in much the same fashion as the first with both teams creating some good chances but it was the away side who took the lead with a tremendous strike from outside the box which gave the Ellon keeper no chance. Ellon reacted well to going behind though and substitute Scott Gray equalled the scoring with a well taken finish with around 15 minutes to go.

A frantic end to the game saw Dyce snatch the three points with a header in the closing minutes to give the away side a valuable three away points.

Ellon's next match is a NRJFA Premier League fixture against Fraserburgh United FC at The Meadows, Ellon, scheduled for Saturday, November 18with a kick-off of 1.30pm.

According to the latest revised fixtures, this will be the last home match until Saturday, January 13.
