The club sent 13 swimmers aged between eight and 11 to the Banchory Mini Meet, a Halloween event contested by clubs from across the Highlands and Aberdeenshire.

Bluefins secured a steady stream of medals to continue their resurgence following a recent spell out of action.

Admistrative troubles towards the end of last year forced the club to suspend all of their activities and press the reset button.

Hard work behind the scenes led to Bluefins restarting their activities in April, and the fruits of their labour became evident at the Deeside competition.

One of the start Forres performers was Kitty Clinch, who produced a strong series of swims in her final competition in the 8-11 age category.

Kitty won gold in the 50 metres butterfly and freestyle as well as 100m individual medley, and secured a silver in breaststroke and bronze in butterfly.

Two more golds for Bluefins arrived in 25m butterfly and 50m breaststroke for Emily Simmons, who also claimed two bronze medals for 50m backstroke and 100m individual medley.

Zivah Potgieter took silver for 25m backstroke, Finn Carruthers bronze for 25m butterfly, Blair Wareham silver for 50m freestyle and Teagan Moyle won a bronze in the 50m breaststroke.

As well as all the club's medal successes, numerous personal best times were achieved - but the best was yet to come.

Team efforts are always the most rewarding and Forres Bluefins managed to claim gold in both the team freestyle relay and medley relay.

Taking on the best other teams in the north and north-east, the Moray club not only won the two team events but by nearly a whole length on both occasions.

The club continues to grow, with various categories in their age groups with their Pups and Seals swimming hard to eventually reach the elite Shark division.
