FORRES Mechanics will climb up two rungs of the Highland League ladder if they win this midweek.
The Cans welcome Clach to Mosset Park on Wednesday in one of six league fixtures on the card.
Victory for Charlie Rowley’s team will see them climb above Lossiemouth and either Fraserburgh or Inverurie Locos, who meet at Bellslea Park.
Mechanics have a point to prove after losing at nairn on Saturday, just a week after crashing out of the Scottish Cup against East Kilbride.
Rothes are also in action, fresh from picking up their first league point of the campaign.
But the Speysiders’ task of building on Saturday’s 2-2 draw against Buckie Thistle could hardly be any tougher.
They travel to Inverurie to take on league leaders Cove Rangers, who have won all 14 of their league matches so far.
The entire league table and a gap of 41 points separates the two clubs, but Rothes will be keen to impress new boss Fraser Bremner.
Wednesday’s other games see champions Brora in derby action at home to Wick while Strathspey host Nairn and Fort William make the long trip to Turriff.
The Highland League has also rearranged a series of midweek fixtures for December.
Wednesday, December 2: Turriff United v Fort William
Wednesday, December 9: Fort William v Cove Rangers
Wednesday, December 16: Forres Mechanics v Fraserburgh; Fort William v Huntly; Keith v Cove Rangers
