FORRES Mechanics made it 11 wins from their last 12 games as they maintained their eight point lead at the top of the Highland League.

Charlie Rowley's side beat Deveronvale 3-1 at Mosset Park to stay well clear of the chasing pack.

After falling behind to a Grant Noble goal, the Can-Cans hit back before half-time with goals from Kyle Scott and Nathan Sharp.

Kevin Duguid added a third in the second half.

Lossiemouth came from behind to beat Inverurie Locos 2-1 at a windswept Grant Park.

Marc Young had given Locos a deserved half-time lead but it was a different story after the break.

Lossiemouth levelled when Liam Archibald drove home from 12 yards after good work by Niki Smith.

And they won it seven minutes from the end when Ross Archibald's shot was blocked by keeper Andy Reid but Kevin Flett followed up to smash home the winner.

Boss Charlie Charlesworth told 'The Scot': "It was a horrible game in the first half and we weren't very composed.

"To trail at half-time and turn it around against a good team like Locos shows great character," he added.

Keith failed to follow up their fine Scottish Cup performance by crashing 2-1 to Fraserburgh at Kynoch Park.

Dean Donaldson headed them into a 22nd minute lead and there were chances to go 3-0 ahead.

They paid the penalty in the second half as Broch took control, equalising through Mark Cowie in 58 minutes and adding a second four minutes later when Alan Hale rifled home a freekick from the right touchline.

Keith boss Darren Still was angered by a display which, he said, lacked grit and determination. "They wanted to win more than we did, and that is not acceptable," he said.

Rothes finally ended their run of nine straight defeats with a 2-1 home win over Turriff Utd.

Buckie Thistle went down 3-0 at Cove Rangers. At Christie Park, Huntly were 2-0 winners over Fort William.

The other results were: Clach 1, Wick 2; Formartine 4, Brora Rangers 1; Strathspey 0, Nairn 2.
