FORRES Mechanics clash with the Highland League leaders this weekend has been postponed.

Mechanics trip to Inverurie to take on title favourites Cove Rangers was one of four league matches called off by Friday lunchtime.

The Cans were bidding for an eighth consecutive league win but Harlaw Park was snowbound.

Also falling victim to the weather is the bottom of the table meeting between Strathspey Thistle and Fort William.

Earlier on Friday, Huntly's home game against Inverurie and Wick Academy's visit to Turriff United were cancelled.

Five other Highland League games will be dependent on overnight weather.

Lossiemouth's Grant Park traditionally avoids the worst of the conditions so their game against nairn should go ahead, as should the Moray derby between Buckie Thistle and Keith.

Deveronvale are due to host Rothes, Brora meet Fraserburgh and Clach are scheduled to play Formartine United in the remaining matches.
