‘GIVE us another chance’ is the plea from Elgin City boss Ross Jack to any doubting fans.

After back-to-back defeats, City are desperate to bounce back at home to promotion rivals Alloa Athletic on Saturday.

And the gaffer (pictured) wants the fans who turned out in force a fortnight ago at home to Clyde to wipe that game from their memory and back them as they bid to push themselves firmly into the title race.

Elgin responded last weekend with a performance that delighted Jack and No.2 Barry Wilson.

However, the result went against them as they slumped 1-0 at fellow promotion rivals Stranraer.

"It was a very positive response from the disappointment of the Clyde game and, apart from putting the ball in the net, the boys were outstanding.

"Their workrate, the way we passed the ball about and the way we never let Stranraer into the game were terrific."

Against Clyde, 728 fans flocked to Borough Briggs, a significant increase on previous attendances this season.

Jack hopes they will all return on Saturday and maybe even more come along to see the exciting brand of football they play more often than not.

"I hope the fantastic crowd that supported us that day against Clyde give the boys another opportunity and are not put off by that performance."
