Hoban (23) has completed a move to City from League 2 rivals Forfar Athletic on a one-year deal.

The keeper spent part of the 2019-20 season on loan at Elgin from Inverness.

He was McHale's deputy and sat on the first team bench for 14 matches but never made a competitive debut for the Black and Whites.

At Caley Jags, Hoban was loaned out to Strathspey Thistle, Brora Rangers, Rothes and Fort William as well as Elgin and Forfar, before making the permanent move to Forfar last season.

He played seven games for the Station Park outfit last term, saving a penalty in a Scottish Cup shoot-out win over Edinburgh City earlier this year.

Hoban also saved a penalty in another spot kick finale victory over Brora Rangers in the Betfred Cup group stages.

He once saved a penalty while playing for Forres Mechanics on loan from Inverness in a friendly against Airdrie.

Hoban joins midfielder Archie Macphee and centre half Creag Little in joining Elgin this summer.
