NO more charity from Lossiemouth, it’s time to get mean, says Ryan Green.
The Coasters’ veteran player-coach reflected on his team’s recent four-match losing streak by saying it has been a setback to some great progress being made under boss Charlie Charlesworth.
Lossie’s most recent defeat, 5-1 at home to Nairn County on Saturday, saw errors punished by a clinical away side.
The Coasters’ charitable theme continued into the night, as the club’s Christmas night out involved the players buying each other clothes from local charity shops to wear during the evening.
But Green warned that Lossie can’t afford to have the spirit of generosity when they pay a visit to one of the league’s top sides, Formartine United, this weekend.
The 39-year-old, who returned to the side last weekend after a spell out injured and away on holiday, misses the Pitmedden trip due to work commitments.
However, he said spirits in the camp are still high and training was buoyant this week, with the squad showing a real determination to try and turn their fortunes around.
“We can’t really put our finger on what has happened to us in recent games, but it has been a bit disappointing,” Green said.
