SCOTT Davidson reckons Rothes’ biggest win in decades is the start of something big happening down Speyside way.
The striker scored his first hat-trick for the club in Saturday’s 9-1 thrashing of his former club Fort William.
Now on 12 goals in 11 appearances for the MacKessack Park side, Davidson (23) has been a revelation as part of a Rothes revolution.
Manager Steven MacDonald pulled off a major signing coup by signing Davidson, who scored 30 goals for Fort last season and spent the summer training with Caley Thistle.
With the Inverness-based front man on board, the Speysiders are now wiping out teams who had thumped them in the recent past and Davidson is loving life at Rothes.
“It was an easy decision for me to come to Rothes,” he said. “I spoke to a few of the boys who signed here in the summer, the likes of Dale (Gillespie) and Dan (Moore).
“That’s good quality players and I think there’s something special going on here.”
