Kane Hester hit a first half hat-trick and also missed a penalty as the home side overwhelmed their East of Scotland League opponents before the break.

Hester’s first arrived on 10 minutes as the Camelon defence hesitated in dealing with a Russell Dingwall ball from the right and the striker fired a low effort into the bottom corner.

Camelon couldn’t get the ball out of their own half in the first half and it was no surprise when Hester doubled his and City’s tally on 24 minutes.

Dingwall slotted in Chris Antoniazzi on the left and his low cross was prodded home by Hester.

Ten minutes later Hester was brought down in the box for a penalty which he took himself in search of his hat-trick, but keeper Darren Dolan made a fine diving save.

The hat-trick did come on the stroke of half time, another six yard finish from Cameron’s cutback - an 18th of the season for the deadly number nine.

Camelon came out of their shell after the break and Keiran Anderson fluffed his shot wide after going clean through on 48 minutes.

Anderson also stung the palms of City keeper Tom McHale, while at the other end Hester wasted two opportunities to add to his tally by dallying too long on the ball in the danger zone.

The striker added his fourth of the day on 71 minutes, racing clear of the Camelon defence to fire under keeper Dolan.

Sub Fin Allen was denied a first goal for the club by a fingertip Dolan save on 82 minutes.

By then City had taken their foot off the gas as they cruised to a comfortable win.
