ROSS Jack has apologised to the fans they let down last weekend at Montrose and urged his players not to let all their hard work go to waste.
“They gave us huge vocal backing at Links Park and myself and the players let them down badly,” he said.
City’s play-off hopes face a stern test with another two tough away trips in the space of four days, with trips to East Stirling tomorrow (Saturday) followed by the long haul to Berwick on Tuesday night.
And following an abject performance at promotion rivals Montrose, Jack wants his players’ strength of character to shine through.
“We have very good players who are just not playing to the standard they were setting a couple of months ago,” admitted Jack.
“I believe in them and trust them, but they have to start believing in themselves again.”
Sean Crighton will miss the trip to East Stirling through suspension following a red card at Montrose and with Jamie Duff and David Niven still out injured, that gives Jack a real headache ahead of the weekend.
“We have got to make sure we get into the play-off pack top four. We have a fight on our hands, but we are up for that fight,” added Jack.
