City drew 2-2 at Berwick Rangers on Tuesday night, a result which saw them slip to sixth.

Clyde won 3-0 at Cowdenbeath to leap above Stenhousemuir and Elgin into fourth place.

Buoyed by Saturday's 2-0 victory at Stenny to end a nine game losing streak on the road, City led Berwick at the break.

Centre back Stephen Bronsky fired home from a corner five minutes before the break.

Elgin, who started with Shane Sutherland in attack and Thomas Reilly in midfield, back from a head injury, looked to consolidate their lead after the break.

However the home side equalised from a Jack Hamilton effort with 20 minutes to go.

Back came City, Darryl McHardy netting his second goal in two games with a drive into the roof of the net on 75 minutes.

Three points would have been precious for the Moray side but Berwick sub Aaron Murrell shot home from the edge of the box to level with three minutes left.

Just one point separates City in sixth from fourth-placed Clyde, who have a tough away game at Peterhead this weekend.

Elgin are at home to Stirling Albion and must avenge their 2-0 loss to the Forthbank men last week to stay in the promotion hunt.
