Macbeath already has SPFL experience having spent last season on loan in League One with Montrose.

After signing, he told City's website: "I am delighted to join Elgin City, which will allow me to focus on the next chapter of my career.

“I know what the club did last season and hopefully we can go one step further this year by clinching promotion.

“The club has high aspirations and a great history which encouraged me to sign. I am looking forward to meeting the rest of my team and getting started.”
