LOSSIEMOUTH are hoping to build on a 'good point' picked up against Banks O' Dee when they welcome Nairn County to Grant Park on Saturday.

The Coasters grabbed their second point of the campaign – and another against a top side after a home draw with Brora Rangers – with a 1-1 draw at Spain Park.

Manager Frank McGettrick said: "It was a good point. We defended well as a team for most of the game and Cammy (Farquhar) had two or three good saves.

"He saved a penalty, which was a really good save. Ross Morrison scored a very good goal and we possibly should have had a penalty for handball, but the referee said it was thigh to arm."

Lachie Macleod put Banks O' Dee ahead after 18 minutes on Saturday, but Ross Morrison levelled the scores 18 minutes from time after being teed up by substitute Brandon Hutcheson.

With 15 minutes to play Cammy Farquhar denied Mark Gilmour from the spot to ensure a share of the spoils for the Coasters.

Lossie will be looking to exact revenge on Nairn on Saturday after County knocked them out of the North of Scotland Cup with a 3-2 victory at Station Park last Wednesday.

"It'll be a tough game against Nairn – it always is," McGettrick added. "They have taken in a lot of players in the close season and have a lot of strikers. It'll be a tough game.

"We have to make sure we are at it from the start and believe we can win these games. It would be good to get something out of the game – we need to start picking ip more points."

Lossie have been handed a home tie in the first round of the Scottish Cup, but it's one of the toughest opponents possible, with West of Scotland Premier Division leaders Beith to visit Grant Park.

The Ayrshire side have won all five of their league games this season and top a table that includes Pollok, Clydebank and Darvel.

"We are focusing on the Nairn and Rothes games first and Beith will take care of itself," McGettrick added.

"They are top of the league and are a top side, there is no question about it. They've played five games and have 15 points and Pollok and Darvel are second and fourth, but we are capable of winning the game at home."

Lossiemouth have had Henry Jordan, from the RAF, on trial, and are hoping to have some numbers back to bolster the squad soon.

Ross Elliott, Ryan Stuart, Fraser Forbes and Niall Kennedy are all carrying knocks and Bailey Campbell has been out injured all campaign.
