Club chairman Alan McIntosh said a meeting will now be held to discuss the way ahead for the Grant Park club.

McGettrick left a coaching role at Buckie Thistle to become Coasters boss a year ago.

Under his guidance, Lossie produced a competitive season, winning seven times including a run of four league victories in five games, and a memorable 2-1 success over eventual champions Buckie in March.

They finished with 29 points, just one less than their best campaign in the last seven years.

McIntosh revealed the manager’s decision to step down for health reasons making him unable to commit fully to the job ahead of and during the 2024-25 campaign.

“It is with regret that have I have to inform all Lossiemouth FC supporters that Frank McGettrick has stepped down as manager,” he said.

“Due to future operations and Franks 100 per commitment means he would miss most of pre season and the start of 24-25 SHFL season.

“He said that he would not be able to give the position 100 per cent so hopes we can get a manager to take club forward.

“We take this opportunity to thank Frank for his professional commitment throughout the past season.”

McIntosh suggested that everyone involved with the club can have their say in the next chapter in the club’s history, when their annual general meeting is staged soon.

“An AGM will be arranged to see which direction you wish the club to take.”
