Three wins in a row, without conceding a single goal have put Lossiemouth on the crest of a wave.

The Coasters won 1-0 at home to Keith on Saturday, having defeated Strathspey Thistle 3-0 and Wick Academy 1-0 in their previous two outings.

This fine run of results has propelled Frank McGettrick's side up to 12th in the league table, with a trip to 14th-placed Deveronvale up next on Saturday.

According to the Fitba North forum, its the first time since 2016 that Lossie have been victorious in three consecutive Highland League matches.

Even more impressively, the Grant Park side haven't managed three straight defensive shut-outs since August 2011.

Boss McGettrick is keeping Lossie feet planted firmly in the ground and insists his team has to battle for every point in an increasingly competitive league.

"For the bottom few teams, every game is like a cup final and we are no different," he said.

"There’s no easy games for a club like Lossie, we’ve been saying that all season. Every game is tough and you have to be at it and organised but I’m happy that the boys’ attitude has been good and they are working hard to improve."

"They are doing their very best for the club and are getting some good results now.

"We’ve had chances in those last three games and probably should have scored more, we need to put away some of these chances we are creating. When you play some teams you don't get away with missed opportunities.

"But with the clean sheets as well, you know you are going to pick up something from the game if you don’t concede.

"That was something we said to them. We knew we needed to stop the amount of goals we had been losing in recent seasons."

The performances of goalkeeper Cammy Farquhar and his defence have been strong this season, but McGettrick says improvements have been made as a team.

"Cammy has done well this season but he hasn’t really had that much to do in these last few games. Anything he has had to do he’s handled it well.

"The back four have been solid but it’s a team thing and the whole team has been defending quite well.

"There are things we are still working on. We do still need to score more and the players are working hard towards that.

"We will just take one game at a time and our attention turns to Vale on Saturday."

Appearing as a trialist for Lossiemouth from the bench in their last two matches is ex-Forres Mechanics title-winning midfielder Ross MacPherson.

"He has been training with us to keep himself fit but he is busy at his work and it will be up to him what he wants to do," McGettrick said.

"He runs his own business so that will take priority and we will wait and see what he thinks.

"He came on in two games and did very well as a trialist so we will play it by ear."
