McMullan (29) has signed for Forres Mechanics, signalling the end of his 11 year career at Lossiemouth.

The midfielder had a clause in his contract that he could walk away if former Lossie boss Charlie Charlesworth left Grant Park.

And with Charlesworth now the boss at Deveronvale, McMullan felt he had also to move on to pastures new.

"It wasn’t an easy decision to leave Lossiemouth. I love Lossie and they are a really good club," he told ‘The Scot’.

McMullan sees no reason why Forres cannot successfully defend their title but knows it will be even harder.

And he insisted he is not a replacement for Neil Whyte, who retired at the end of last season for a second time.
