MIXED emotions summed up goalkeeper Darren McConnachie’s move to Deveronvale.
The stopper is delighted to have signed a four-year contract with a club he believes can challenge for honours.
But ‘Mini’ admitted he was gutted to be leaving so many good friends behind at Grant Park.
McConnachie (28) insisted he hadn’t been looking to leave Lossiemouth and if Charlie Charlesworth had still been there, he would also be a Coaster.
However, when new Banff boss Charlesworth and former Lossie No. 2 Stuart Cameron came calling, the lure was irresistible.
"The chance to move came up and I thought I might never get an opportunity like this again," he told ‘The Scot’.
"Deveronvale are looking to be challenging and I want to win trophies," he added.
"It is not about financial gain, it is purely for footballing reasons. I had a few sleepless nights but came to the conclusion this was the right thing to do."
"I am gutted to be leaving Lossie after six years because I get on with every single player, supporter and committee member. I can’t speak highly enough about the club."
