TWO Moray teenage golfers have jetted out to America as part of the Grampian-Houston Association junior golf exchange.
Jordan Milne, a member at Elgin, and Forres golfer Ross Proctor will spend two weeks in Texas as guests of former Banchory golfer Bruce Davidson, director of golf at the River Oaks Country Club in Houston, who initiated the exchange programme.
They will play Houston’s top courses and receive coaching from former Open and Masters champion Mark O’Meara and US PGA champion Steve Elkington.
Steven Milne, father of Jordan, himself a junior golf coach at Elgin, said: "It is just an unbelievable opportunity."
He paid tribute to Elgin Golf Club for providing kit, clothing and spending money for Jordan, who is working as a greenkeeper’s assistant at the Hardhillock club. The club nominated the plus two handicapper to the Grampian-Houston Association for the trip.
"The development of junior golf has risen to an all-time high at Elgin Golf Club," he said.
The Grampian-Houston twinning exchange was first established in 1979.
