Wright, who holds membership at Moray Golf Club in Lossiemouth as well as his home town Forres, picked up the £4250 first prize at Pollok.

He birdied the second hole of a play-off against Kieran Cantley, who had tied with Wright on ten-under-par after two rounds on the Glasgow course.

Not even a course record 61 from European Tour player David Law could knock Wright off top spot, as Law finished two shots off the pace.

The tour is owned by former Open champion Paul Lawrie, who was at Pollok to watch Wright pick up his first victory.
