Moray Open Golf: Final day begins with semi-finals across three competitions
THE final day of the 117th Moray Open got underway this morning – with three trophy winners to be decided today.
A series of semi-final matches, currently ongoing, kicked off the final day action across The Northern Amateur Championship (Scratch), Macpherson Rose Bowl and Ross Anderson Trophy.
Jake Scott (Elgin), Ryan Bain (Strathlene), Craig J Smith (Moray) and Craig Telfer (Turnberry) are battling to take home the Scratch competition – with the two Craigs facing off in the semi-final.
Craig J Smith knocked out Elgin Five Day champion Ryan Copland in a dramatic quarter final, while Craig Telfer was taken all the way by James Booth before winning.
Jake Scott, who only made the cut by a shot, and Ryan Bain clash after defeating Malcolm Macleman and Craig H Smith respectively in the last eight.
The Northern Amateur Championship final is expected to get underway at around 2pm, with no rain scheduled to affect play throughout the afternoon.
Competing for the Macpherson Rose Bowl are Willie Adams, Jack McNeilly, Moray MacLeod and Daniel Smith.
Sean Bradshaw, Bryan Eldins, Nicol Smith and Shaun Heyes are battling it out for the Ross Anderson Trophy.
