ELGIN City manager Gavin Price says he couldn't have asked for more from striker Greg Morrison as he scored twice in his first start for the club.

The Ross County loanee came into the starting line-up for City's trip to Berwick and caused problems for the home side netting twice in the first half.

Price said: "I am delighted for Greg, he wants to do well and you can see that, he worked really really hard on the field.

"It is important for a guy of his physical stature that he is in the box and in the right area if crosses are coming in. If strikers are there or there about they are going to score.

"The second goal he scored was from his own power and his own work rate and he deserved that.

"I'm really pleased for him that he is off to a good start, I couldn't ask for any more so hopefully it continues."

Elgin went ahead as Shane Sutherland's cross was diverted into the net by Berwick defender Jordan Orru before Morrison's two strikes gave City a 3-0 lead at half-time. Price added: "I am happy with the win I thought it was a good reaction to the Stirling Albion defeat, it was the ideal response.

"It was important throughout the whole game that they didn't have a lot of chances.

"We said at half-time that first and foremost the aim was to not concede.

"Although we didn't create many chances in the second half I thought we closed the game off really well.

"Three-nil away from home is a great result wherever you are playing in this league and thankfully the players got the job done in the first half and completed it in the second half with a professional performance."

Price said despite the impressive performance he will continue to look at areas to improve.

"You are always going to look at aspects of the game and say that we could have improved on that.

"Win, lose or draw, we analyse what we need to improve on so we will do that again and try and keep improving."
