DINGWALL athlete Sean Chalmers pipped Moray’s Kenny Wilson to victory in the opening race of the Northern Scot 10k series.

Almost 300 runners were at the start line of Sunday’s Nairn 10k which was contested in cold and breezy conditions.

Chalmers and Inverness Harriers team-mate Jenny Bannerman were the male and female winners while Moray Road Runners were well represented in Wilson, who was nine seconds behind in second, and his brother James who was sixth.
