FRESH from securing their first league point of the season, Rothes have recruited former captain Nathan Sharp as their new assistant manager.

Recently appointed manager Fraser Bremner was thrilled to announce Sharp’s agreement to leave current junior club Islavale and return to the Highland League to strengthen their battle for results.

In his first game in charge of the MacKessack Park side, Bremner must have had a positive effect on his squad as they pulled off a stunning 2-2 draw at home to Buckie Thistle.

It was Rothes’ first league point since a 4-4 draw at Fort William in April, ending a run of seventeen straight defeats.

Bremner’s aim is now to bring a first league victory in more than a year to the club, and sees the addition of his former Forres Mechanics title-winning team mate Sharp as a major move for the Speysiders.

“It’s absolutely superb. Nathan has won everything in the Highland League, he’s been captain here at Rothes before and knows the place in and out,” Bremner said.

“He’s a proper football man so it will be superb having him in the dugout alongside me. I think it’s another major coup for Rothes.”
