Lossiemouth agreed a fee with the Jags on Wednesday night following protracted dicussions and the striker will sign a contract with his home town club tomorrow (Saturday).

Smith, who bagged 22 goals last season for Lossie, is delighted to finally get the chance to play for Buckie.

"I played with the club’s under-21s when I was younger. When I heard Buckie were interested in me there was only one club I wanted to play for," he told ‘The Scot’.

Smith, who still lives in the town, played with Buckie Rovers before Charlie Charlesworth gave him his Highland League opportunity with Lossiemouth.

"I have loved it at Lossiemouth and they were really good to me in giving me a chance from juniors. I want to thank everybody at Lossiemouth," he said.

However, his focus now is on trying to win honours with Buckie.

"I can’t wait to get going and I am so looking forward to playing with them. Hopefully we have a chance to try and win the league again this season and that is the main reason I left Lossie, to have a chance of winning things.
