An early Alan Pollock penalty got the ball rolling for Forres and Fraser scored three times before the break, with Robbie Duncanson also on target.

Lee’s twin brother Graham netted after the break as did Ryan Stuart with his second goal for the club.

An own goal added to the Mechanics tally and a fourth by striker Fraser wrapped up the scoring.

Buckie Thistle won 2-1 at Huntly with new boys Andy MacAskill and Sam Robertson on target.

MacAskill scored after five minutes, before Jags had Ceiran McLean shown a straight red card before the break.

Even with ten men the visitors didn’t let up and on-loan Cove youngster Robertson added a second with his opening goal for Buckie.

Ex-Jag Paul Napier pulled one back for Huntly, who then had Reece McKeown sent off to even up the numbers.

Lossiemouth took a heavy defeat at home to Formartine United, who ran in six unanswered goals at Grant Park.

And Keith were unable to hand new boss Dean Donaldson a winning start as they went down 2-0 at Wick.

Leaders Cove Rangers stretched their lead at the top, thumping hosts Turriff 4-0.

Fraserburgh and Inverurie lost ground, with a late Locos leveller meaning a share of the spoils between the teams at Harlaw Park.

Rothes’ game away to Nairn County was one of three games postponed due to a frozen pitch.
