North District title success for Elgin Amateur Boxing Club schoolboy and junior boxers

ELGIN Amateur Boxing Club youngster Tyler Sked has added north district joy to his Scottish title success.

The Moray club had a total of five schoolboy and junior boxers taking part in the North District Championships and came home with four medals.

Sked won the 44.5kg title to add to his success in the Boxing Scotland youth championships earlier this year.

Liam Shiels also claimed victory in the 66kg final which was an impressive bout between two boxers who gave their all.

Club head coach Paul Gordon added: "Alister Stewart, in his first fight, faced the national champion and gave a great account of himself.

"And Findlay Gardiner boxed twice during the tournament and was unlucky coming away with silver.

"Considering he only had his first bout this month shows he’s listening and learning all the time."
