Moray golfer goes for glory
MORAY’s golf hopes lie with Michael Patterson in the final round of the Grant Property Investment Championship in Lossiemouth.
The prestigious EuroPro Tour event is being staged at Moray Golf Club for the first time, and reaches what promises to be an exciting climax on Friday.
Former Milne’s High pupil Patterson, now based at Kilmacolm Golf Club, made the cut after 36 holes thanks to rounds of 69 and 72 for a one-under total of 141.
He is six shots behind the leaders, and tees off on Friday at 11.10am alongside Stiggy Hodgson (Wisley).
Leaders Paul McKechnie (Braid Hills Golf Centre) and Daniel Wardrop (Didsbury GC) head the leaderboard at seven under, and are off at 12.50pm.
Moray’s other two competitors, Ross McConnachie (now Peterculter) and Andrew Rollo, both missed Thursday’s cut, with McConnachie finishing on 146 and Rollo 150.
