BUCKIE Thistle crashed out of the Aberdeenshire Shield after a penalty shoot-out defeat on Wednesday.

Jags were beaten 6-5 on penalties by Fraserburgh following a goal-less 120 minutes at Victoria Park.

The visitors had Marc Dickson sent off in extra time but held out to force spot kicks.

Buckie missed their fourth kick with Fraserburgh scoring their first four, but home keeper Greig Sim saved the fifth Broch penalty to take it into sudden death.

Jags then missed their seventh kick to hand Fraserburgh a place in the semis.

There they will visit Inverurie Locos, who knocked out holders Turriff United by winning 3-1 at the Haughs.

Moray's interest in the competition ended with the exit of Keith, beaten 3-0 at home to league leaders Cove Rangers.

Cove will now meet Formartine United, who won 2-0 at Deveronvale in the other quarter-final.
