Banks o' Dee took their place in the final against Huntly, winning 3-1 in the Victoria Park shoot-out after a 1-1 draw after 90 minutes.

Jags also missed out on a spot in this season's Aberdeenshire Cup final after losing on penalties in the semi-final to Formartine United.

They lost to the same opponents in a shoot-out in last season's Shield, and in the same campaign by the same method lost to Fraserburgh in the Aberdeenshire Cup semis - though they did defeat Brora on spot kicks in the League Cup.

This time Sam Urquhart and Sam Pugh saw their kicks saved by Banks o' Dee keeper Fraser Hobday, and when Andy MacAskill shot over, Banks o'Dee didn't even need to take their final kick as they were through.

Jags were left kicking themselves for missed chances during the 90 minutes.

They went behind to a Michael Philipson strike midway through the first half but Marcus Goodall quickly levelled with his tenth goal of the season - three of them on loan at Huntly.

Urquhart and Max Barry both struck the woodwork as the home side piled on the pressure in search of a winner, to no avail.

Banks o' Dee added Buckie's name to a list which included Keith twice, Inverurie Locos, Fraserburgh and Formartine in the Shire Cups and Nairn County in the Scottish Cup as Highland League scalps taken by the North Junior Superleague side.
