The 117th edition of the event at the Lossiemouth course has provided surprises aplenty across The Northern Amateur Championship, Macpherson Rose Bowl and The Ross Anderson Trophy.

Holder Matty Wilson (Forres) and Ryan Bain (Strathlene) were the two lowest scorers across Monday and Tuesday – hitting 141 across two rounds, with the cut at 152.

However, while Bain made it past Iain Ross (Moray) in the round of 32, winning 2 and 1, Wilson was knocked out of the competition by Greg Telfer (Glasgow), losing 3 and 2 in the first round of scratch section matchplay.

Jordan Milne (Elgin) was the most convincing victor in the last 32, winning 7 and 6 against opponent James Wilkinson.

Elgin Five-Day Open winner Ryan Copland, Craig Telfer and Craig J Smith, who all shot 142 across their first two rounds, all made it through to the final 16 on Wednesday.
