Elgin City women’s football team fought out a ten-goal thriller in their final home match of the season.
Borough Briggs hosted the Scottish Women’s Football League North clash between third-placed City and Dyce Women, who are in second spot behind runaway champions Inverurie Locos.
It looked good for Elgin when they went in at half time with a two-goal advantage.
Top scorer Sarah Westwood fired them ahead midway through the first half and Ellie Main struck a second on the half hour.
However, a sloppy start to the second half by City saw Dyce turn the contest around.
Three goals in as many minutes saw the home team trailing 3-2 and chasing the match.
They drew level through an Alexa Mann strike on 53 minutes.
Dyce then stepped up a great and added two more goals to set themselves up nicely for the three points - but they did not count on a late Elgin revival.
Westwood scored her second on 82 minutes to offer home hope, and within a couple more minutes she had completed her hat-trick and made the score 5-5.
That’s how a pulsating contest finished, with Elgin concluding their campaign on Sunday with an away trip to Arbroath.
