PICTURES: Elgin Golf Club's five-day open reaches later stages - all the results and matchplay draws

Silverware is in sight for the surviving players in Elgin Golf Club's five-day open.

And Highland News and Media photographer Beth Taylor braved Monday's thunderstorms to captured many of the players in action - see photo gallery below.

Kynoch Shand Cup reigning champ Alan Duncan from the home club, has progressed to the quarter-finals of this year's championship.

Duncan, who defeated Michael Mann in last year's scratch final, posted a 6 and 5 victory over David Hector in his opening matchplay tie on Wednesday and now meets clubmate Dean McPherson.

Mann exited the tourney in the last sixteen, narrowly beaten by Inverness visitor Jonathon Keith who now plays last year's semi-finalist Cameron Milne.

Cameron's brother Jordan has also reached the quarters after a 3 and 1 success over 2021 finalist Billy Devine.

In the WJ Clark Cup, holder Alex Brand defeated Stevie Milne 3 and 2 to move into the last sixteen.
